A Little Too Close for Comfort
Garden of the Gods, Colorado
I had been chasing lightning over the park for a few hours when the storm started to wane. My earlier photos were from the west side of the most prominent features, with lightning popping off behind the sandstone structures as the storm moved east. On my way out of the park it looked like the storm was about to perform an encore, so I set up just below the east side of Cathedral Rock and waited. Suddenly there was a loud crackling noise and the sky filled with bright light. The burst of thunder about knocked me off my feet. I grabbed my camera, still on the tripod, and threw it in my vehicle, jumped into the driver's seat, and got the hell outta there! That was it for my lightning adventures on this particular night. Note how the lightning is literally vaporizing the clouds as it makes its way to the ground. (Alternate title: "Change of Underwear Not Included) Photo © copyright by Todd Caudle.
Artisan Glossy Metal Print (Ready to Hang)

Metal prints offer a beautiful, glossy, sleek option for brightening your wall spaces. They are created by a process called dye-sublimation, whereby dyes are converted to gas and infused into a thin sheet of aluminum through the combined forces of heat and pressure, creating a near-permanent, water-resistant , archival print that can literally be displayed in a wide variety of settings and suffer no ill consequences. Metal prints are lightweight and scratch-resistant, and have a superior glossy finish that eliminates any barrier to letting the colors, sharpness and vibrancy of an image shine through. Like our museum-grade acrylic prints, they arrive ready to hang with an inset floater frame that gives the piece even more dimensionality. The archival nature of dye-sub prints means your print will retain its color for 100 years or more. The color and detail and durability of dye-sub metal prints offer a beautiful, contemporary way to display fine art in your home or office – or your humidity-prone secret getaway deep in the Amazon rainforest!
