Morning Mist
Brittle Silver Basin, Colorado
Morning fog drifts through the forest in Brittle Silver Basin. One of the things that has always intrigued me about this image is the lone blue spruce tree tucked into the forest on the right side.
This photo was made on a morning that left me trapped for several hours when overnight rains and slick mud prevented safe passage over nearby Hancock Pass, a massive mudslide closed the Tomichi Pass route I had used to access the basin, and a rock slide blocking the only other means of escape was composed of boulders too big for me to move or drive around. Add a flat tire and locking lug nuts with no key to the mix and it added up to one very long day. This image made it all worth it. Photo © copyright by Todd Caudle.
