Utah

While my home state of Colorado is certainly my first love, Utah is my clear second favorite place to visit and photograph. Utah is filled border to border with incredibly diverse landscapes, from the familiar red rock formations of its canyon country to the forests and alpine environs of its many mountain ranges. Being home to the Big Five of national parks – Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce and Zion – makes Utah every landscape photographer's dream location. Utah's own state parks system is also hard to rival, from Dead Horse Point and Goblin Valley to the hiding-in-plain-sight awesomeness of Snow Canyon State Park on the outskirts of St. George. It's a state I'm drawn to year-round.
